The incredibly talented Ash Palmisciano recently won an Inside Soap Award for Best Newcomer for his role as Matty Barton in Emmerdale. Matty Barton is the soap’s first ever transgender character and has been received positively by viewers across the country.
Ash has done amazing work as Matty and has helped bring the subject of trans people and the struggles they can go through to the forefront of conversation. We’re all exceptionally proud of Ash and hope he continues to thrive on Emmerdale!
